Repton - one of UK's leading schools, set to open in Whitefield
Repton is bringing its 460 years of British heritage to Bangalore, by setting up its first satellite campus in Whitefield. The school will start functioning this year from its campus on Sarjapur Road, offering courses under the IGCSE curriculum and an IB Diploma.
Founded in 1557, Repton is an integral part of the village of Repton in South Derbyshire. Repton’s alumni include writers Roald Dahl and Christopher Isherwood, and well-known names from the sporting world such as Olympic gold medal athlete Harold Abrahams and C.B. Fry.
Academic work is at the heart of Repton, and each year around 10% of pupils are offered places at either Oxford or Cambridge Universities. Repton is also recognised as one of the top sporting schools in the UK and excels at hockey, football, tennis and cricket. The school also has very strong music and art departments and an outstanding record in drama.
The Bengaluru campus will begin its focus on sports included in the Indian Olympic charter such as hockey, tennis, basketball and badminton.
Repton Bangalore campus will be spread across 32 acres. The entire premises and facility, will be developed by the VR Group of companies. The school has appointment Mr. Iain Blaikie as Headmaster of its new international school.
